Will The Apple iPhone 5 End the Reign of Samsung Galaxy S3?

By Admin | 4 July 2012

In the dog-eat-dog world of the smartphone market, it looks like Samsung is, no pun intended, the top dog, thanks to its Galaxy S3 flagship device. The super smartphone has been the toast of the cellphone world since its release slightly more than a month ago, and may enjoy a few more months on the top of the heap.

Can the Galaxy S3 retain its rankings and stay in the lead by the fourth quarter of 2012, or will Apple’s new iPhone be the Galaxy S3-killer many believe it to be?

We personally believe Samsung will stay on top and weather the storm from Cupertino, CA.

And why is this so?

It’s obvious, if you come to think of it – the Galaxy S3 is simply the better handset, at least based on the rumored features and specs we have at this point for the iPhone 5. The Galaxy S3’s 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display will easily be larger than the 4-inch screen expected to come with the new iPhone.

Sure, Apple’s Retina Display may promise a clearer picture for iPhone users, but at the end of the day, bigger is better for the average smartphone user. Processor speed should also point in favor of Samsung – even with a dual-core processor (for US versions), the Galaxy S3’s Exynos should make short work of Apple’s A5X or A6 chip.

And we’re not even done yet, as we haven’t mentioned the Galaxy S3’s X-factor yet. We would be pertaining to features such as S Voice, S Beam, Smart Stay and many others. Apple’s new iOS 6 may have an improved Siri and a new 3D-mapping app, but we’re still confident the Galaxy S3’s new features will still make the handset a favorable option over the yet-to-be-released iPhone 5.

Of course, it’s the customer’s choice as to which of the two handsets he would prefer. But if you ask us, we’d go with the Galaxy S3, if the rumored new iPhone features and specs don’t change anytime soon.
