It’s not just Windows Phone 8 handsets that will be debuting soon after Microsoft officially launches both Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 operating systems. A few Windows 8-powered tablets will be released before 2012 is over, including the Asus Vivo Tab RT.
Over in the UK, Three had announced on Wednesday that it will be releasing the Vivo Tab RT sometime in the near future, but with no specific release date. As Windows 8 launches on October 26, it can be assumed that the slate will be debuting in the UK early in November.
Pricing has not yet been confirmed for the tablet, although it is predicted that Three may price it at around £400 without a contract. The carrier didn’t supply any further comment after the initial announcement, but it said in the original statement that the Vivo Tab RT should be a great device for multi-tasking, playing games, watching movies and operating business applications, particularly Microsoft Office 2013.
Back in the U.S., the Asus Vivo RT will be released next month by AT&T. Just like Asus’ Android-powered Transformer tablets, the Vivo RT will include an optional keyboard, allowing users to operate the tablet as a laptop if they see fit.
The device would come with a 1.3 GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor, 2 GB RAM, a 10.1-inch Super IPS display with 1,366 x 768 pixel resolution and 4G LTE connectivity. As Three doesn’t have a 4G LTE network yet, this feature would only be available for now on carriers that have their own 4G networks, including AT&T.
