The Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket 4G has been one of AT&T’s more popular handsets, however it hasn’t been one everybody can afford. At $199.99 for a new two-year contract, many consumers who have wanted one have since gravitated towards other, more affordable handset (or contract) options.
That may be a thing of the past, as AT&T has recently announced they shall be cutting the Galaxy S2 Skyrocket 4G’s price in half.
Yes, that’s right – from its original $199.99 price tag, the handset shall now be available at $99 on the same two-year deal mentioned above. This should be no problem to most buyers, particularly those who aren’t really itching to upgrade to some of the snazzier options that may be available later in the year.
In fact, this news should be a godsend to many potential customers, given the Galaxy series’ general popularity.
The Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket 4G is an AT&T exclusive that was originally launched in November of last year. The phone boasts of a large 4.5-inch screen with 480 x 800 resolution and supports 16 GB internal storage which can be expanded if need be.
Moreover, it packs a lot of horsepower under the hood with its 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU. It has two cameras, the rear one an 8-megapixel LED flash-enhanced autofocus and the front one a 2-megapixel model for video conferencing.
Another feature that may get buyers interested is 4G LTE, or Long-Term Evolution support, which gives users a chance to enjoy blazing-fast 4G Internet speed through AT&T’s LTE network.
