Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Coming to TELUS on October 30
Just days after Samsung had announced that the Galaxy Note 2 phablet will be released sometime this fall in Canada, TELUS confirmed that it will indeed be releasing the device on Tuesday, October 30. No pricing details have been announced at this point by the carrier.
However, it won’t just be TELUS that has October 30 marked as the release date for the second-generation phablet. Samsung had emailed Canadian tech blog Mobile Syrup Thursday stating that “the Note 2 will be available to purchase at all national and regional carriers on October 30, 2012.”
Aside from TELUS, the Galaxy Note 2 will also be offered by Bell, Rogers, Mobilicity, SaskTel, Videotron and WIND. Over in the United States, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular and Verizon will all be releasing versions of the phablet this fall; a press event is scheduled on October 24 to officially launch the device in America.
Though, most people already know what to expect from the Galaxy Note 2, here is a quick summary of the specifications and features. The Galaxy Note 2 will have a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED HD display (larger by 0.2 inches over the original Galaxy Note), a quad-core Exynos processor that runs at a speed of 1.6 GHz, 2 GB RAM, an 8-megapixel rear camera and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box.
The S Pen has been improved, with several new features such as Air View that can be used in conjunction with the stylus. Also, the device is thinner by 0.3 millimeters than its predecessor.
