The biggest Samsung news we should expect within the current week is the announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S3 or next Samsung Galaxy. But as we keep our fingers crossed and hope that the next Galaxy is most of the things, if not everything it was rumored to be, the South Korean company is keeping busy in Canada, where it was announced Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will be available on nine Galaxy phones and tablets.
The ICS rollouts would begin today and tentatively end by the completion of Q2 2012. Some of the devices included are the Galaxy S2 smartphone, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet computer and Galaxy Note phone-tablet hybrid, or “phablet”.
Please take note that update schedules may vary based on the device and the carrier, so it would be best for consumers to reach out to their carrier for the exact information.
Unfortunately, there has been no word yet as to when Ice Cream Sandwich will be available in many other markets, including the United States. There have been several instances wherein Ice Cream Sandwich updates were scheduled, only to be postponed to a far later date. Hopefully this won’t happen any further, as Android continues to make their newest and best OS available on every device it supports.
Going back to the Galaxy S3, it will be unveiled in London on May 3, at a special event entitled “Unpacked”.
This device will follow the Samsung Galaxy Nexus as the second Samsung phone to include ICS out-of-the-box, and is rumored to contain several high-end features we will certainly know more about come the 3rd of May.
