Motorola Droid RAZR HD To Be Released in September?
Press invitations have been sent out by Motorola recently, inviting tech journalists to attend the unveiling of a device rumored to be the Motorola Droid RAZR HD. The event will be held in New York City on September 5, and the invites notably have the word “display” mentioned quite prominently, including on the tagline itself, which reads “on display.”
As the Droid RAZR HD’s main feature would be, quite obviously, its high-definition display, that more or less tells us the day of the great reveal may be on us, in just two weeks’ time.
If the Droid RAZR HD will be announced on September 5 and released about a week or two after that, that would give Motorola its own new iPhone challenger. The iPhone 5, after all, is expected to be unveiled on September 12 and released on September 21.
Verizon Wireless, as usual, will be offering the handset, the latest member of its growing family of Motorola Droid phones. AT&T has a similar phone to the Droid RAZR HD, the Atrix HD, and a lot of the specs may be identical to this device.
According to most sources with rumored specs, the Droid RAZR HD will come with a 4.3-inch HD display (either Super AMOLED or LCD2), a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 CPU that is perfect for 4G LTE (which the Droid RAZR HD will support), an 8-megapixel rear camera and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Some have reported that the RAZR HD will come with a 2,500 mAh battery – an impressive number – but not the 3,300 mAh battery that fuels the RAZR MAXX. The device’s design may also be slightly tweaked, especially around the corners.
