Apple officially made its two newest all-in-one computer variants available for online order Friday, providing consumers an alternative to purchasing the new iMacs at a physical retail location. As of Wednesday, shipping time for the 21.5-inch iMac was estimated at 7-10 business days, while the larger 27-inch version was expected to ship out in about 3-4 weeks, though the exact release date is still unknown.

The online release came about half a day after 21.5-inch iMac units were officially released at physical Apple retail stores and third-party resellers on Thursday, November 28.

Customers in the United States, Canada, Australia and some parts of Europe can now order the iMac of their choice online, instead of having to queue up at a physical store and deal with what is, in many parts of the world, increasing vehicular traffic to beat the holiday shopping rush.

Shipping times, however, have increased since Apple launched the new iMacs online. The 21.5-inch version would now ship in about 7-10 business days, up from an earlier 1-3 days. The 27-inch iMac is still at 3-4 weeks. Price points for the new iMacs can range from $1,299 for the most basic 21.5-inch desktop with Intel Core i5 processor to nearly $4,300 for a fully “decked-out” 27-inch version with a faster processor, “Fusion Drive” support and other add-ons.

Also, there are several sites and retailers offering special discount deals on the new iMacs, including AppleInsider and MacMall.
