Right now, there doesn’t appear to be anything stopping HTC from launching, or publicly revealing the flagship M7 on February 19 at an event in New York City. This event should be the culmination of the company’s strange, yet hopefully effective marketing strategy for the M7, a phone HTC CEO Peter Chou publicly displayed to employees recently, as he egged them on to chant the device’s name. The release date, however, is still being debated upon, with March 8 being the most likely date when the M7 will be available in stores.
A screenshot from French Retailer Phone House was posted on FrAndroid, with a listed release date of March 8. This echoes the previous rumors mentioned above, and also makes reference to the M7’s unlocked price point – 649.99 Euros. This is one of those leaked images you may want to take with a grain of salt; the flyer features a rendered version of the M7 that looks very dubious.
While there’s a chance that this image is a placeholder, it also may be some rumor monger’s attempt at drumming up interest in the M7 ahead of its expected announcement.
Almost all the rumored “basic” specs are listed in the flyer – the 4.7-inch full-HD display, HTC Sense 5 baked in (no mention of an Android version, though), a 13-megapixel rear camera, 32 GB onboard memory, 4G LTE and NFC. There is a mention of “double Beats Audio” in here, which suggests this could be HTC’s new audio feature on the M7.
