Former Baywatch child star Jeremy Jackson, who played Hobie, son of lead character Mitch Buchannon (David Hasselhoff) in the iconic ‘90s TV series, was arrested early Saturday, April 25, for allegedly stabbing a man in an argument.
According to reports, the 34-year-old Jackson had rented a property in Westlake, Los Angeles on Friday, to hold a party with a few female friends, but was robbed of $2,300 by one of the attendees. He had allegedly asked the victim, supposedly a gang member with a face tattoo, to recover the money, but the man had pulled a gun on Jackson, which forced him to stab the man in self-defense. Jackson had soon fled the site, but was apprehended by Los Angeles police on Saturday.
“The victim told officers, ‘Hobie stabbed me,’ ” said L.A. police detective Joe Rios. “The victim did tell officers his assailant was a former ‘Baywatch’ actor. He was able to identify him.” The victim’s identity has yet to be released by authorities.
Jackson, like many a child star before and after, has dealt with his share of personal demons through the years. He admitted to suffering from drug addiction during his time in Baywatch, and his metamphetamine and alcohol abuse eventually forced him to quit the show. As an adult, he would appear on Celebrity Rehab due to a human growth hormone (HGH) addiction, and had been booted off the cast of Celebrity Big Brother UK for exposing the breasts of one of his castmates.
