AT&T Galaxy S3 Will Be Available in Red

By Admin | 5 June 2012

You read that correctly, no pun intended. AT&T has chosen a peculiar way to stand out from the other major American carriers set to offer the Samsung Galaxy S3 later in the month.

Instead of the conventional Pebble Blue and Marble White options, AT&T will apparently be offering a third flavor of the popular Ice Cream Sandwich-flavored smartphone. You’ll need to think of strawberry ice cream for this one, or at least of the strawberries before their transformation into said delicious treat, because AT&T will be the only American carrier offering a red Galaxy S3.

Of course, this little baby will be compatible with AT&T’s superior 4G LTE network, and will be running on the 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Krait that many believe is the perfect processor for LTE-capable phones.

It may sound like the best one can do with as we’ve yet to see a quad-core processor that works fine with LTE, but a powerful beast of an engine nonetheless. The handset also includes a giant 4.8-inch Super AMOLED HD screen, 8-megapixel camera and a bevy of new features such as Samsung’s S Voice voice recognition system.

Unfortunately, it looks like only the 16 GB version will be offered stateside (32 and 64 GB versions are offered internationally), but by paying a nominal $39 for a 16 GB microSD card, one can enjoy up to 32 GB storage on the Galaxy S3.

AT&T will begin listing the Galaxy S3 for pre-order on June 6 for $199 on a two-year contract, and will officially be joining Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular as the five carriers offering the S3 on American soil.

Sure, it may not have some features found on the international Galaxy S3, but the American version should be worth any buyer’s money and then some.
