Alleged iPad Mini Components Leak on Ukrainian Site
One of the latest rumors of the alleged Apple iPad Mini came from the Ukrainian website UkrainianiPhone.com via AppleInsider. In it, the site featured a series of pictures that are purportedly of several key components: two views of the back plate and the display panel.
The supposed backplate would give us clues as to the button and port placement of the still-unannounced device. From the top, we could see a headphone jack – indicating that this component would not be moved to the bottom like in the iPhone 5 and would retain the same position it has in the full-size iPad. Also at the top is the plastic strip that may signify the presence of cellular radios.
The latter ties in neatly with the apparent location of a nano-SIM tray on the right-hand side of the tablet, just below the usual hold and volume button cluster on Apple’s devices.
Meanwhile, the smaller Lightning dock connector first introduced on the iPhone 5 is very much in evidence at the bottom.
UkrainianiPhone.com also showed a front and back picture of the rumored device’s display panel, white front plate (which features iPod Touch-like side bezel proportions) and a rear view of the back plate. These components demonstrate the front-facing FaceTime camera hole located dead center of the front panel and the hole for the iSight camera located on the upper left corner of the device.
