Accessory Makers Getting Ready for Possible Launch of iPad Mini

Even as the Apple, Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad mini has not been formally revealed to the public, some accessory manufacturers are getting ready for the rumored launch by mailing out displays to retailers for iPad mini accessories.

Reputable business/tech blog AppleInsider had received images late last week with instructions on how to set up in-store displays that would contain accessories for the purported smaller Apple tablet.

The instructional manual is part of a box that contains the parts that would be used to assemble the in-store displays. Some pages in the manual were labeled as strictly confidential – the “Amazon/Apple Tablet Display Parts List” was marked with a note asking employees not to read those pages, but nonetheless, these confidential pages had leaked out as they had apparently fallen out of the box.

Other accessory manufacturers that have supposedly been busy preparing for the iPad mini include Belkin, Kensington and Trust. These manufacturers were reported Wednesday to have iPad mini cases all set for the launch and release of the 7.85-inch device.

Going back to the accessory display, the name ‘iPad mini’ could be a sign that would be indeed the name of Apple’s smaller tablet. But then again, iPad mini has been used liberally by tech insiders to describe the device, and Apple could very well use a different brand name.

Earlier this year, there were third-party case manufacturers that had released cases for the “New iPhone”, which many thought would be the name of Apple’s sixth-generation smartphone; as we all know, Apple decided to stick with a numerical designation when it eventually released the iPhone 5.
